Being closed for construction, the museum regularly organizes variety of programs and events. The new Akron Art Museum will have a permanent collection of photography, paintings and sculpture spread in an area of 13,000 square feet. An extensive area of 7,000 square feet gallery is entirely devoted to changing exhibitions. There is a permanent children’s gallery with a big classroom for children activities. Also there are lecture auditoriums, museum library, film and music section, and space for other recreation activities.
