Bellevue Arts Museum

The Bellevue Arts Museum is situated in downtown Bellevue, Washington. It is perceived by the locals as an organization responsible for transforming downtown Bellevue from a strip mall series to a sophisticated city.

History:

The Bellevue Arts Museum was started in 1947. It was housed in several temporary residences until it was moved to the third floor of a shopping Center in central downtown Bellevue. The shopping center was called the Bellevue Square. In 2001 the Bellevue Arts Museum was shifted to its current location in 510 Bellevue Way. In 2003 the Bellevue Arts Museum encountered financial problems which forced it to close down. The museum carried out a lengthy fund raising campaign and managed to raise enough money to renovate the building. The interiors of the Bellevue Arts Museum were remodeled and on 18th June 2005 the museum was reopened with a teapot display.
