The Norton Museum of Art is a museum of art in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was established by the husband-wife duo of Ralph Hubbard Norton and Elizabeth Calhoun Norton.
Background of Norton Museum of Art:
The Norton Museum of Art was set up by the former Acme Steel Company head Ralph Hubbard Norton, in 1941. Ralph Norton retired from his job and shifted from Chicago to West Palm Beach in Florida. He had a considerable collection of paintings and sculpture which he decided to share with the public. The Norton Museum of Art aims at developing, exhibiting and interpreting its exceptional collection and also to educate the public by means of special exhibitions, publications and programs. The museum strengthens the public art awareness in its region and encourages participation in programs designed to improve the standard of life of the community. The Norton Museum of Art was expanded in 2003. The expansion increased the space of the museum by seventy five percent. The newly opened wing displays selections of the museum's permanent collections on a rotating basis.
Collection of the Norton Museum of Art:
The Norton Museum of Art has a renowned collection of American, Chinese, Contemporary and European art and a photography collection. The collections are displayed on a rotating basis. The museum's collection includes 19th and 20th century masterpieces. Paintings and sculptures of European artists Brancusi, Gauguin, Matisse, Miro, Monet, and Picasso are displayed alongside works by American artists like Davis, Hassam, Hopper, Manship, O'Keefe, Pollock and Sheeler.

The mission of the Norton Museum of Art is “To preserve for the future the beautiful things of the past”.
The Norton Museum of Art has fourteen galleries and an enclosed courtyard for hosting social and educational events. A glass ceiling installation occupies the place of pride in the museum. The glass ceiling was commissioned by Dale Chihuly.
