Location
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is located in the center of the downtown Arts District of Oklahoma City. Indeed, the museum lies on Couch Drive i.e. between Hudson and Walker Avenues. It is located at 415 Couch Drive, Oklahoma City. It is also known as ‘Donald W. Reynolds Visual Arts Center’. It consists of three floors of galleries. In fact, the Museum School, Noble Theater and Museum Café are all part of the Donald W. Reynolds Visual Arts Center.
The museum is famous all across the world and attracts more than lakhs of visitors from all the four corners of the world. The American Association of Museum has recognized the museum. The museum remains opened from Tuesday to Saturday from morning ten till evening five. On Thursday, it is open from ten in the morning till late nine at night. On Sundays, the museum unlocks at noon and remains open till 5p.m. However, it remains closed on Mondays, New Year’s Day, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Exhibitions of the Museum
Oklahoma City Museum of Art is a center of attraction for visitors from all walks of life. Basically, the museum is well known for its exhibitions and exquisite collections. Some of the famous current exhibitions of the museum include:
- Leaving a Mark: The Winston and Ada Eason Collection of “Monuments of American Graphic Arts”, March 1-July 15, 2007.
- Oklahoma Artists: The Series, Eugene A. Bavinger, March 1-Oct. 14, 2007.
- Dale Chihuly: The Exhibition—This is a permanent installation on the third floor.
