Tampa Art Museum was established in 1979. It is an organization that is recognized by the American Association of Museums. Tampa Museum of Art is located at 600 N. Ashley Drive, Tampa, Florida. It lies along the beautiful River Hillsborough in downtown Tampa. It provides varied art related experiences to its visitors of all ages. The collection of the museum includes the contemporary artworks and 20th century work created by specialized and seasoned artists. There is collection of Greek and Roman antiquities too. Paintings by Eberhard Havekost from the Rubell Family Collection: TMA is the first museum to put on display this work. Havekost is a German artist born in 1967. It provides an opportunity to examine the use of technology in the art-making process. Besides, it will engage the public in discussion regarding the issues of contemporary art.
Memorials of Identity from the Rubell Family collection: Seven artists who deal with issues of identity have created this work of art. The seven artists include: Sigalit Landau (Israeli), William Kentridge (South African), Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba (Japanese, lives in Vietnam), Sven Påhlsson (Swedish, lives in Norway), Anri Sala (Albanian, lives in Germany and France), Fiona Tan (Indonesian, lives in Netherlands) and Artur Žmijewski (Polish).
