Canvas Print, Description:
The original artwork is reproduced and printed on canvas by applying the offset printing process since long time. Since the 1990s canvas print has been associated either with inkjet printers or dye sublimation. By the help of these printers the canvas artists and photographers can print their works directly on canvas in case of limited reproductions. Canvas Prints done by using the inkjet method may also be referred to as a Giclée print.
Canvas Print, Display:
After printing the image on canvas, the canvas is brought to size and the shaped canvas is either glued or stapled to traditional stretcher bars or a wooden panel. Canvas print is then displayed in a frame or as a gallery wrap. In the gallery wrap the artists' canvas is wrapped around the sides and is then attached to a wooden frame back. In canvas printing the term gallery wrap is used for the image that is found in the sides of the frame and the front of the canvas. The image which appears on the sides of the canvas is either a continuation of the main image or a reflection of that.
