Daniel Ochoa



Life and Education:

Daniel Ochoa is a contemporary artist who was born in Santa Rosa, California. He did a Bachelor of Arts from Art at Gonzaga University. During his study in Florence, Italy, he studied and visited the works of Old Masters like Michelangelo, Massacio and Donatello. He is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts degree from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He is a member of the San Diego Art Institute and other organizations.

Realism in Paintings:

Daniel Ochoa mainly works in the Alla Prima technique and his paintings lend to realism. However, there is no lack of expressive strokes in his paintings. Everyday objects are transformed into interesting, dynamic and eye-catching compositions.



Daniel Ochoa utilizes his developed drafting abilities to import bold forms and rich colors. His textural works grab the attention of viewers and depict the drama, character and beauty of life. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions and has also taught in Art Institute of California, San Diego. The main themes of his works include landscape, still life and fruits. He uses very vibrant colors in most of his paintings. 

Famous Works:

Some of the well-known paintings of Daniel Ochoa are Sunny Hotel Del, Beach Point of View, Brigintine, Split Watermellon, Wine for Two, Lily among many others.  There is a collection of the paintings of Daniel Ochoa in Jundt Art Museum and San Diego Art Institute. The Rock Island Gallery in California has a huge collection of his works.
