In the collection of the series Death and Disaster, Green Car Crash (Green Burning Car I) was the only painting in which other than black and white many other colors were utilized. This historic painting was depicted on a canvas made of synthetic polymer, silkscreen ink and acrylic on linen, where the actual size of the canvas was 90 x 80" (228.6 x 203.2 cm).

Immediately after its creation it was kept in a private collection for 30 long years, generating incredible interest in the prospective buyers. Finally, in an art evening sale dedicated to Post war and contemporary art, Green Car Crash (Green Burning Car I) was auctioned at Christie's Galleries at Rockefeller Center, New York. On 16th May 2007, at 7:00 pm, David Rockefeller sold the painting to an anonymous buyer for a price value of $71,720,000.
