They are named “The ZONS” They represent a poetic interaction of biomorphic structures. All of his paintings are oil on canvas. In 2006 Bernd Obergassel started making three dimensional figures out of plaster with acrylic paint. Bernd Obergassel paints figures which give the viewer a positive feeling. A few of his well known works are Rendevous, Rainball-ZONs, Dance for Joy and The Young And The Old.
Bernd Obergassel had an attraction towards technical things from his childhood. After leaving school he took up an apprenticeship as a constructor of electrical machinery. Bernd Obergassel has a degree in Electrical Engineering and has a post graduate degree as a Business Administration Engineer. Bernd Obergassel believes artists are similar to engineers. They are both creative.
