Life and Works:
Dmitry Oboznenko was born in Leningrad on 10 th June 1930. Leningrad is famous as a city of art. Everything about it is art related. Dmitry Oboznenko was naturally inclined towards art from childhood. The city was his first teacher. Dmitry Oboznenko was a student of the Art School of Art Academy and Repin Institute. He was under the guidance of Prof. A.I Serebryakov. Dmitry Oboznenko graduated from the Repin Institute in 1957. During his student years Dmitry Oboznenko was a participant in satire wall newspaper. He was noticed by a publishing house which invited Dmitry Oboznenko to join Fighting pen cartoons. During his time with the publishing house, he created more than 300 posters, satiric portraits, humorous sketches and caricatures.
The creative works of Dmitry Oboznenko was influenced by World War II, problems of living in besieged Leningrad, the work at the mine producing factory war stories and documentaries. The difficult times during World War II brought many subjects to the paintings of Dmitry Oboznenko. Dmitry Oboznenko also paints landscapes. The landscapes of Dmitry Oboznenko are dedicated to Leningrad as well as cities in Italy and Cambodia. He has also worked in the historic Russian regions of Suzdal, Rostov the Great and Tver. Dmitry Oboznenko taught as an art teacher in Cambodia and during that time he made many landscapes, portraits and drawings. On returning home an exhibition of the paintings of Dmitry Oboznenko was held which was devoted to his time in Cambodia. His most renowned creations are Ending XX Century, Maslenitsa, Old Bonzah and The Praiseworthy Article.
