Life and Education:
Rodney Oberman is a resident of Currumbin Australia. Rodney Oberman was a topper at art in his High School. After leaving school he started a career in screen printing. At the same time Rodney Oberman was also studying general design, drawing, textile design and printing at the Nation Art School in Sydney. His first job was at the Henry Rousel Art Studios which is famous for its Pub Art. Rodney Oberman joined David Miles Hand printed fabric and wallpaper after changing several jobs in screen printing. He also spent a few years in manufacturing garments for the surfing industry. It was during that time that Rodney Oberman indulged in hi love for painting. He took part in many exhibitions held on the East Coast of Australia and won several awards. Rodney Oberman has been honored twice with the Mosman Art prize, one of the most prestigious prizes in Australia.
Rodney Oberman's art is simple, bold and bright. His whole life revolves around art and Rodney Oberman is at his creative best when he is working. The themes of his works are inspired by the animated and colorful environment that surrounds him. Rodney Oberman is also influenced by Picasso, Robert Dickerson, Chagall and Rousseau. One of Rodney Oberman's most unique skills is hand printing fabrics and wallpapers and creating limited edition prints. His works reflect the area where he lives. They include figurative surfers, surfboards, surf, sand and tropical fruits and flowers in extreme colors.
