Ahmad Elias was born in 1954 in Deir Atieh or Attia. He completed graduation in 1981 in Internal Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University. He is a member of ‘Fine Arts Association' and the ‘Arab Plastic Artists Union'. He is also a foundation member of the ‘SIX plus ONE Group'. Also, he is a member in the postal stamps' committee. He has worked designing books, medals, logos and magazines covers. He also remained the supervisor of many sculpture and artistic works for quite sometime.
Elias is a celebrated and very famous artist. His work has been highly appreciated and liked by all. The Ministry of Cultural Center and the political administration own some of the collections of his work. Apart from this, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Arabic Qatar, Syria, United States of America, France and Spain also contains some of his works. Ahmad's painting is based on abstract theme and ideas. For such outstanding work, he was awarded with the Silver prize at the Lattakia's Biennially Third Exhibition held in 1999. And an International Prize in Baghdad International Third Festival for Arts held in 2002. Living in Damascus (Syria), he has become prominent painter and personality all across the globe. The unique and strange thing about his painting is that it is without a name or a title. His paintings are merely known as ‘art' with suffixed with numbers in order.
