Erol Erkmen

Painters have always attracted art lovers with their excellent paintings and their style of expression. Erol Erkmen is one of the contemporary painter who is interested in making other painting. He presently resides in Istanbul, Turkey.

Erol Erkmen has been interested in painting since long. He got his formal training in painting in a small technical school of Istanbul. Erol Erkmen initially made film screens and obtained moiré effects by rotating one film over the other. His first photographic exhibition was held with these works. He exhibited a lot till 1984, during his studies but then Erol Erkmen took a break from his work as he went on to study engineering. Then he again reverted back and completed his work after 1993. The works of Erol Erkmen are different form Digital Art as he is mainly a photographic artist. He first takes pictures and then sketches effects which he would use, and finally adds a personal touch to the photographs by coloring them with cyanide or some special dyes. Erol Erkmen tries to present his work as oil paintings. He does not want anybody to imitate his works. He depicts his personal emotions and ideas in the paintings which cannot be felt or achieved by anybody else.

Erol Erkmen has participated in various exhibitions in the early years of his life. Some of the renowned works of Erol Erkmen include Bale, Waves 2, Girl, Waves, Horses, Dervishes and Peysaj. He is also the chairman and founder of a world famous organization, TUVPO , which is a Turkish UFO and paranormal events research organization.
