Acrylic paintings are done with fast-drying acrylic paints which become water-resistant after drying up. These paints were commercially available from the 1950's and have been in use ever since. John Enright is one of the contemporary artists of acrylic painting. He presently lives in Arizona, USA. John Enright completed four years of formal education after which he attended the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. After completing his degree he was hired as an Art Director by an association. John Enright then decided to move towards Commercial Art and was commissioned by various corporations, movies, recording and publishing organizations. After trying his hand in all these fields, he then started painting for himself; to satisfy his own heart and soul.
John Enright shifted his attention from traditional areas to classics and to contemporary trends and methods. Presently, he is trying to merge the two dimensional forms with three-dimensional forms and as a result the paintings are largely resembling sculptures. Many of his new works contain mixed media and implicit imagery, material and methods. John Enright uses very dynamic and bright colors in his paintings as it allows him to pour down his inner feelings.
