He presently resides in Cairo,Egypt. Kareem Ettouney was born in the year 1975 and he has been interested in painting ever since. He graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Design. Kareem Ettouney worked as a freelance artist in the initial years of his career. He is presently the art director of a company named, Media Molecule Ltd. He is deeply inspired by the works of Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Mucha, Rodin, Monet, Joseph Sheppard, Frank Frazetta and many others.
Kareem Ettouney has also been deeply influenced by the works of his father, Sayed Ettouney who was a renowned architect. He admires the works of comic book artists like Jon J. Muth, John Buscema and others. Moreover he also appreciates the works of great Egyptian architects like Gaudi, Frank Lloyd Wright and others. Kareem Ettouney also is deeply influenced by the works of Star Wars and Disney characters, especially Glen Keane’s Tarzan. Kareem Ettouney makes illustrations, graphic designs and murals. Apart from acrylic paintings, he even does oil paintings and watercolor paintings.
Kareem Ettouney has made a series of body paintings of human figures as well as a series of paintings based on fantasy, portraits , sketches, murals and others.
