Mutlu Ertac is Turkey born acrylic painter . He is one of the contemporary acrylic painters residing in America.
Mutlu Ertac was born in Izmir, Turkey on 5th of November, 1961. He is a graduate in Electronics Engineering from the Istanbul University. He passed his degree in the year 1982. From a tender and young age he has an inherent liking for the art form. Even though he pursued science for his academics, he was involved in several types of art forms for a long time. In his High School days he has showed a great knack for watercolors. But it was in the year 1983 that he made his first attempt in oil colors. He migrated to United States in the year 1990. He now lives and works as an artist in the Newport Beach area of California. He is a married man with 4-year-old twin daughters.
In the initial stages of his painting career he was influenced by surrealist art. Salvador Dal influenced him initially. Later on impressionist and post-impressionist art and painters nurtured his mind and soul. For a span of three years Mutlu Ertac has taken tutorials from Vincent Farrel, a repute plein-air artist. Mutlu is associated with Laguna Beach art environment for a considerable period of time.
The incredible beauty of Nature, especially flowers has fascinated him. His acrylic compositions of flowers in vases are series of original paintings on stretched canvas. They are all untitled compositions in bright and brilliant colors. His still life acrylic artworks are a thing of beauty in itself. What distinguishes him is his distinct and brilliant color strokes on the easel. His signature style is that the colors are harmonious and well blended. His images are simple and there is an interesting play of light and colors in them.
