Naomhan Early

Naomhan Early is a contemporary Irish painter. Naomhan Early began his art education by enrolling in a portfolio preparation course in Ballyfermot Senior College in 1990. His time spent at the Ballyfermot Senior College shaped the creative processes in his art production and helped him to gain depth in personal expression. In 1991 Naomhan Early joined the National College of Art and Design in Ireland for a foundation course. The next two years were spent studying in the Crawford college of Art in Cork city. Naomhan Early spent the first few months on a sculpture course and then changed to painting.

After leaving Crawford College with a National diploma in Fine Art, Naomhan Early spent some time teaching in a community art group in Cork city. In 1997 he returned to Dublin and due to financial difficulties, began doing jobs unrelated to art. However his passion for art never left him. It was this passion and urgency in his drawings that formed the foundation of his current abstract works. Naomhan Early taught art in secondary schools before making the decision to return to college.

Naomhan Early works with abstract prints, watercolors, figures and brush and ink. He studied under one of Ireland's leading artists, Patrick Graham. Patrick Graham was a big influence in the paintings of Naomhan Early. Botticelli's Illustrations of Dante's Divine Comedy has also been an influence on the works of Naomhan Early. Naomhan Early also admires the works of Jackson Pollock and Philip Guston. Contemporary Irish artists Patrick Hall and Brain Mc Guire have also wielded considerable influence on Naomhan Early. At present Naomhan Early is busy producing abstract art and figurative paintings and drawings.
