Artists have always used their creative genius to present even the most mundane way in a new light to the audience . Robert H. Branham is a modern-day painter who was born in Louisville, Kentucky. He presently lives and works in Malibu, California. Robert H. Branham attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati. While staying in Chicago, he enjoyed early success as an artist and received a special commission from the Vatican in Rome. He has led a diverse and varied career as an illustrator, consultant and conceptual design artist for the motion picture industry. Robert H. Branham believes that art standards of quality should be set by the individual artist and not by any school or critic. He was influenced by Degas to try his hands at nudes at the age of 12. His fascination with the female body has continued ever since. He stopped commercial art in 1900 and since then has been focused on serious art.
Robert H. Branham does not like to combine commercial and fine art together and the only time they were fused was when he made a TV film. In between doing films he worked as a freelance artist and illustrator for Duell Corporation , for over 20 years. Robert H. Branham also owned his own company for many years from which he conceived, designed, built and installed part of an entertainment area for Tropworld Casino in New Jersey. He is deeply inspired by Rouault, Bonnard, Matisse, Klee, Munch and Giacometti and later his works is influenced by Carl Jung and Jungian philosophy.
Robert H. Branham often combines oil and acrylic, but also has experimented with mixed media like plaster, clay casting and polystyrene sculpture. Most of his paintings are figurative and his latest paintings are mainly abstract. Some of his famous paintings are The Guitar, Counterpoint I, Untitled Abstract III, Untitled Abstract II, Abstract in Blue, the Pottery Maker, Oriental Silk, The Side of a Woman, Quiet Deliberation, A Brief Intermission, Contemplation, Nude in Blue and Hills of Spring Flowers among many others. His works are kept in private collections by art lovers of America.
