Solange Berger

Oil painting is an age old technique of painting where grounded pigments are mixed into a medium of oil. Many famous painters have used this technique. Solange Berger is a contemporary oil painter who was born in Switzerland and stays there presently as well

Although Solange Berger has done a degree in Architecture she found more interest in the artistic nature of the profession rather than the technical aspects. Initially she started painting as a self-taught painter however later she took lessons from famous Californian teachers. From 2000, she started showcasing her work with the San Francisco Bay Area's Abbey Foundation for the Arts.

She is highly influenced by Impressionist painters. The birth of her daughters influenced her emotionally and she started spending her time in trying to express herself. Gradually, Solange Berger started experimenting with texture and mixed media. The main subjects of her painting include undecided, abstract, children, dance, still life, landscape and others. She uses both sober as well as bright colors in her works.

Solange Berger has participated in many exhibitions in Switzerland and California at various galleries and stores. She has mostly done solo shows. Her next show would be held in May and June, 2007 at L'Aubier in Switzerland.
