Sue Everitt is a contemporary artist who is well known for her Acrylic Painting . New, modern objects generally form the base and subject matter of her images. She is interested in popular images like appliances, road signs, figures, lifestyles and icons of the 50's to the present days. Born in United States, she is a native to the San Francisco Bay area and is based there as a painter. She served her stints as a student with notable artists like Rupert Garcia, Sam Richardson, and Barbara De Genevieve while she was pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts at San Jose University in the early part o 1990's. She has achieved numerous awards for her works and has participated in countless solo and group exhibitions. ‘OBJECT AS ART' is the concept that Sue uses in her creative works. They offer an interesting play of color, movement and object. Her creations have complex and intriguing… they have layers of multiple meaning. She uses media imagery, personal photographs and texts to create a narrative in image which usually evokes sarcasm. Her vibrant color usage and complexity in image makes her a class apart from the other contemporary acrylic painters. Presently she is working on a series of images related to family and personal memories and historical imagery.
Sue Everitt has chosen acrylics as her medium of painting. Acrylics are fast-drying, versatile colors. Finished acrylics works have the look of watercolor or oil color. It has the advantage of being water-resistant and hence acrylic image are less prone to environmental damage.
