Yolanda Barjoud

Yolanda Barjoud is a Florida based oil artist. She lives in Miami Beach. Yolanda Barjoud was born in Colombia, South America and raised there. In 1965, Yolanda Barjoud moved to Miami, Florida along with her family. Ever since then she has adopted USA as her home. Yolanda Barjoud studied Art and Decoration at the Sacred Heart Academy. But, she is mostly self-taught. Yolanda Barjoud has been painting acrylics and pastels. She has also done some work in ceramics. Yolanda Barjoud has won many awards for her hand sculpted ceramic flowers and birds. It is only recently that Yolanda Barjoud has started painting with oils.

Yolanda Barjoud loves nature and celebrates its various forms. This love and obsession with nature, especially flowers is expressed through Yolanda Barjoud in her various collections of new artwork. Yolanda Barjoud loves to recreate the beauty of nature in most of her paintings. She emphasizes the contrast between textures with color and atmosphere. Yolanda Barjoud uses extreme texture contrasts for e.g. the delicacy of rose with hardness of crystal or the softness of water with the roughness of wood. Not only the environment but also the spirit of a place is captured by Yolanda Barjoud in her artwork. Her works reflect a real feel for seascapes and landscapes.

Yolanda Barjoud has been a part of group exhibitions at the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts in Plantation, Florida, and several group exhibitions at Broward Art Guild in Ft Lauderdale, Florida . In 2002 she won a Juried art competition at the Schaknow Museum of Fine Arts. Recently she as held an exhibition at the at One Ear Society Gallery Portrait Art Exhibition in Coconut Grove and Lady Audrey's Gallery juried Art competition and Exhibition in Darien.
