This Talapatrachitra show a scene an Indian potter’s household. The potter’s wheel outside the modest dwelling is used to produce countless earthen wares of different shapes and sizes. The lady is arranging the pots while her young boy is looking intently at the production technique. In Indian villages, the occupations are hereditarily defined; the boys at young age start learning the nuances to get the craft right. Another man squatting on a floor is checking the sturdiness of the pots while a dog keeps guard at the pot on fire. The whole family, even the dog is a part of the family profession.
