Ragini Gujari
This Ragamala miniature painting personifies Ragini Gujari, wife of Raga Dipaka, as she mesmerizes a pair of gazelles with the music of her vina (a stringed instrument like a lute). The gazelles, who symbolize her lovers, are enchanted by the pouring melody. The theme of this painting also corresponds to Mriga Trishna - a phenomenon common in the desert summers. During the intense summers in the desert sands, thirsty travelers often glimpse a shimmering lake brimming with water but as they move towards the lake, it appears to recede. Mislead by such mirages, herds of deer often travel for miles till they lay down their lives. This 'deer thirst', also called as 'Mriga Trishna', is symbolic of love.

The painting is available in a dimension of 9 x 7 Inches.
