The Capilano College in Vancouver, British Columbia is committed to develop new and innovative programs according to the changing trends in market . It is one of the premier art institutions. The Capilano College was founded by the school boards and few residents of North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Howe Sound through a referendum in 1968. Initially the classes were scattered in nearby churches and several other locations. Then in 1973, the college opened its permanent campus in the Lynnmour area of North Vancouver. In the same year it also opened a regional center in Squamish and in 1977, it opened its Sechelt campus.
Courses
The Capilano College offers bachelor degrees, associate degrees, post-baccalaureate diplomas, advanced diplomas, diplomas, certificates and statements of completion. The bachelor degrees are offered in jazz studies, music therapy, tourism management and business administration. Post-baccalaureate programs are offered in environmental science, Asia Pacific management, Latin American Management and art. The diploma programs include commercial animation, interactive design, studio art, technical theater, textile arts, costuming for stage and screen, bachelor of music transfer, jazz studies, motion picture production, illustration and indigenous independent digital film making. The Capilano College also offers various vocational courses, preparatory courses and continuing education courses.

The College tries to offer high quality and flexible preparatory, academic, career and vocational programs either with its own resources or in partnership with others.
Facilities
The Capilano College offers facilities of library, writing center, math learning center, advising center, disability services, peer support center, international students’ center, career resource center, bookstore, IT services and counseling services. It also has a purchasing department, student store, workshops and distance education facilities. The campus activities include Performing Arts Theater, athletics and recreation and speakers bureau.
