Cornish College of the Arts

The Cornish College of the Arts is a fully certified art institution. It is situated in the Denny Triangle and Capitol Hill locality of Seattle in Washington, USA. The Cornish College of the Arts offers a unique mix of visual and performing arts within a background of humanities and sciences.

History

The Cornish College of the Arts was founded by Nellie Cornish in 1914. Nellie Cornish established the college with the purpose of exposing artists to contemporary progressive arts and even today the college continues to be innovative. The college started out under the name of the Cornish School of Music. Very soon dance and visual arts were added to the school’s curriculum. Theater and design followed soon after. Within a span of few years Nellie Cornish developed the school into a draft of today’s Cornish College of the Arts. The mission of the Cornish College of the Arts is to provide the best quality of higher education to students aspiring to be artists. The alumni of the Cornish College of the Arts are all practicing artists. The Cornish College has the lowest ratio of faculty/student which permits more individualized attention for students and allows them to excel in their chosen field.
